The 2009 Jaguar XF is a new model, replacing the S-Type in Jaguar's lineup. The big improvement with the XF is styling, interior design and features; not to take away from the hardware underneath. The XF comes with a choice of two V8 engines. The XF is offered in three trim levels, starting with the normally aspirated Luxury, which is better equipped than most base models in this category. Next is the 4.2 Premium Luxury. The SC (for supercharged) is the premier trim and comes with practically every option Jaguar gives to its vehicles. This includes CATS automatic suspension control and 20-inch wheels. The base XF 4.2 Luxury is powered by a 4.2-liter V8 delivering 300 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. The standard seating is bond-grain leather, with satin-finish walnut and aluminum trim, a 320-watt, eight-speaker stereo and 18-inch alloy wheels. The XF 4.2 Premium Luxury has the same normally aspirated V8 as the standard model, with even more luxury features. Its standard equipment includes a GPS navigation system, soft-grain leather on the seats, dash and door panels, three-stage heated front seats and 19-inch wheels, among other things.
Safety features that come standard include dual-stage front airbags, front-seat side-impact airbags, head-protecting curtain airbags for all outboard seats, and a tire pressure monitor. Rear park assist is also standard on all models, with a graphic display on the dash. Active safety technologies include Dynamic Stability Control, with a skid managing feature, and a new technology version of antilock brakes (ABS). The ABS features brake assist for full force in panic stops and electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), which includes a component called Cornering Brake Control that proportions brake force from side to side to keep the car balanced while bra
king through a curve. While it is true that the XF's basic shape creates a high-impact presence, its aerodynamics actually makes a difference. The Jaguar XF is the most efficient Jaguar sedan ever, with an amazing 0.29 drag coefficient and a front-to-rear lift balance of zero. This means that at high speeds the XF will be kept stable, reduce wind noise inside, and reduce fuel consumption at a given speed, compared to a car with more drag. With the exterior, Jaguar has applied a variety of high-tech metals, including high-carbon steels, dual-phase steel, hot-formed boron and bake-hardened steels. This creates a vertical safety ring around the XF's occupant cell. In the interior, there is certainly a feeling of luxury; yet, the controls that empower a driver and keep the vehicle safer are not overpowering. The XF's trunk is larger than any competitor's, and a folding rear seat further expands capacity. The six-speed automatic contributes to the Jaguar XF's sporting character, using adaptive gear-change strategies based on the type of road and the driver's application of the gas pedal. The XF's interior is both gorgeous and charming, and less confusing or annoying than some of its competitors.
he cabin on both sides. The airbag management system employs multiple impact sensors designed to more precisely control the timing and rate of deployment. From the aerodynamic perspective, the E-Class is one of the sleekest sedans around. The Mercedes-Benz sedan offers plenty of passenger space, yet does not go so far as to create a cavernous feeling. A four-spoke steering wheel with elliptical thumb-operated buttons was new in 2008, along with revised controls for the automatic climate system and additional interior color choices. The variable-power steering system was improved with a 10-percent quicker ratio for more precise control of front wheel direction. The system provides more boost for easy turning at low speeds and less boost for more progressive steering response and feedback at higher speeds.
The Jaguar XF is great looking, smooth and comfortable, with the features buyers expect in this class. One key edge it has over competitors is that it accelerates quicker and handles as well or better. The XF is very responsive, quiet and comfortable. Its six-speed automatic transmission might be the best in any luxury car anywhere, and it is partly responsible for such an enjoyable driving experience. The new Jaguar XF measures up to the best cars in its class in just about every respect, and its over-the-road performance is excellent. It's less conventional than previous Jaguar sedans, and perhaps even less formal. The 2009 Jaguar XF sedan is a modern automobile; it is a fresh alternate to others in its class of mid-sized, rear-wheel-drive sedan. The XF has an MSRP of $49,200 to $63,700. This Jaguar has a fuel economy range of 25 mpg on the highway, and 16 mpg in the city. There is a basic warranty of 48 months/50,000 miles. The Mercedes-Benz E320 has less storage space than some of its competitors, but much more than it did in the past. This sedan presents a combination of safety, luxury, practicality, performance, status, and cost of operation that is superb. The redesigned E-Class introduced for model year 2007 improved on this car. The E-Class features some of the industry's most advanced safety technology and it expresses an elegant status. The E-Class 320 has an MSRP of $53,200 - $88,500. It comes with a basic warranty of 48 months/50,000, and gets 24 mpg Hwy, and 17 mpg City. The Jaguar XF and Benz 320 have similar fuel economy and both carry an aire of luxury. Price wise, the Jag presents a better bargain.
